Marisa Guerrero AIFD, CFD, TMF, Begins Term as Texas State Florists' Association President
LEANDER, TEXAS (Sept. 1, 2025) — The Texas State Florists’ Association (TSFA) is pleased to welcome Marisa Guerrero AIFD, CFD, TMF, as its new president. Selected by TSFA members during the annual election on June 21, Guerrero succeeds Ed Fimbel, CFD, TMFA, who begins his term as Immediate Past President.
Guerrero is vice president of Debbie’s Bloomers in El Paso, Texas. In addition to years of service on the TSFA Board of Directors and as a member of the TSFA Membership Committee, Guerrero has made a significant impact on the floral industry nationally. After being inducted into the American Institute of Floral Designers in 2013, she served on the board of directors for the South Central Regional Chapter of AIFD, including a term as president. Guerrero held positions on the WesTexas New Mexico Florist Association Board of Directors and has enjoyed her role as a trustee for the AIFD Foundation, where she currently contributes as a grant and scholarship co-chair.
“The floral industry is as strong as ever,” said Guerrero in an interview for the September 2025 edition of TEXAS in Bloom. “I am hopeful that the floral industry will continue to be loved and appreciated as it is right now, and that TSFA will continue to lead the way!” Guerrero’s visionary leadership inspires innovation and perseverance, positioning the association for growth amid change.
Joining Guerrero and Fimbel on the board of directors are returning members First Vice President Amy Neugebauer AIFD, CFD, PFCI, TMFA, Grower Director Jimmy Klepac and Retail Director Brandy Ferrer AIFD, CFD, TMF. Newly elected to the board are Second Vice President Tom Wolfe, Jr., Wholesale Director Jeff Floyd and Retail Directors Dawson Clark, TMF, and Tricia Won AIFD, EMC, IMF.
“For more than a century, TSFA has been at the forefront of floral industry advocacy and education in Texas,” said TSFA Executive Director Michelle Karns, CAE. “The creativity, business acumen and leadership of this board will continue strengthening TSFA’s ability to deliver the best in floral education and resources for floral industry professionals and enthusiasts statewide.”
TSFA extends its gratitude to the following board members whose term of office has concluded: Immediate Past President Susan Piland AIFD, CFD, TMF, Wholesale Director John Priest and Retail Directors Yolanda Amos, TMFA, and Iuliia Prokhorova AIFD, CFD, TMF.
