TSFA President Ed Fimbel Recognized as Term of Office Nears Completion

News Press Releases

LEANDER, TEXAS (Aug. 29, 2025) — The Texas State Florists’ Association (TSFA) thanks President Ed Fimbel, CFD, TMFA, for his leadership as his term of office nears completion. Fimbel will be succeeded by First Vice President Marisa Guerrero AIFD, CFD, TMF, who will assume the TSFA presidency on Sept. 1.

During his tenure, President Fimbel continued his dedication to floral education by supporting every in-person and virtual TSFA floral certification testing event for high school students. He played a key advisory role in the development of the virtual reality program for Level 1 Certification, which will be available later this year. He also contributed to the advanced floral design curriculum project and presided over the successful Texas Floral Expo in League City. Fimbel’s inspirational leadership was most evident as he encouraged volunteers and dedicated countless hours to teaching, mentoring and supporting floral industry professionals, teachers and students.

“We are incredibly grateful for Ed’s leadership and are in awe of his tireless work ethic,” said TSFA Executive Director Michelle Karns, CAE. “His encouragement and support have helped create the warm community and culture for which TSFA is known. Through relationship building at the local, state and national levels, and a clear strategic vision, Ed has helped the association achieve significant goals during his presidency. We look forward to continued collaborations over the coming years.”

TSFA also extends its gratitude to the following board members whose term of office concludes on Aug. 31: Immediate Past President Susan Piland AIFD, CFD, TMF, Wholesale Director and Treasurer John Priest and Retail Directors Yolanda Amos TMFA and Iuliia Prokhorova AIFD, CFD, TMF.
